The all-new ale is a limited edition in the Wolaver's organic line of beers, and will be featured in select bars and restaurants in New York City and Vermont as well as the brewery tasting room.

"All-American2," like the first All-American Ale released earlier this year, is 100% certified organic, and brewed only with ingredients grown here in the USA. This is a rare feat in the world of organic brewing, where most organic hops must be shipped in from New Zealand or Europe.
"Our goal is to use top quality ingredients, grown sustainably and as close to home as we can get," said brewery president, Morgan Wolaver.
"We have been working with American hop farmers to grow not just more organic hops but also a wider variety of organic hops. Each beer recipe calls for a different variety or combination of varieties, so this is essential for the high quality, wide range of styles that we brew. Our efforts paid off last fall in the form of several acres of organically grown Fuggles, Goldings, and Magnum hops of outstanding quality." The first harvest was the inspiration for the All-American Organic ale, and now All-American2.
All-American2 incorporates the Fuggles and Goldings hops with organic malts and the brewery's house yeast for a smooth English-style pub ale.
The beer features a pleasant balance of pale and roasted malts and a subtle but distinct hop aroma. The flavor is complex with great depth of character.
Available only on draft, or in growlers from the brewery tasting room.
We looks forward to the day when more- if not all- of Wolaver's organic ales will be brewed with American organic hops!
For those who want to toast Independence Day with a sample of the new All-American2, the brewery tasting room will be open from 11-4 on July 4th, with free tours and free samples as usual.
Cheers!

This beer was brewed by Brewmaster Steve Parkes AND Richard Lawrence, Organic Homebrew Champion of the Seven Bridges 2007 Contest. Wolaver's was a sponsor of the competition and Richard was awarded the opportunity to come brew a batch of beer with us.  Richard is from North Falmouth, MA and is pictured at left with his girlfriend and friend, and below with Steve Parkes.

Mike Hall, owner of Local Pub and Teahouse in Saratoga Springs, taps a pin of All-American2.

Max's notes from the evening:
All American2 draft and cask at my local pub last night.
Both were well received…with the cask getting rave reviews from cask lovers but about a 50-50 split regarding initial preference.
Customers were offered a sample of conventional draft along with the
cask version before they chose their pint.  I opted for both…it was
great to see this beer be done so well  in both formats while the
flavors and mouth feel were so distinctively different.  It was a great beer experience!
